Parent Book Authors Seek “Willing Coalition” to Show Support of Families of Service Men and Women

John McGuire and Scott Mennie, authors of The Original Parent and Family Logbook are on a mission. “There are thousands of families in America with a military mom or dad in Afghanistan or Iraq or some other overseas location.” States McGuire. “Scott and I are absolutely determined to get a copy of our unique family memory book and parenting guide to every one of those families.”

McGuire and Mennie are now seeking companies and individuals who want to show their support to these families by providing funds to cover the costs of printing and distributing the thousands of books needed to get one to each family.

“Our book can be a significant family building tool for a family while one of the parents is overseas.” Says Mennie, the father of two daughters. “It is our goal to get each family a copy of our book with an endorsement printed on the cover: "ABC Company Supports the Families of American Service Men and Women”.

“We all saw and applauded the outpouring of support to the families of the 9/11 victims.” States McGuire. “We want to show the same support to the families of our service men and women who are sacrificing so much to keep America safe and strong for our children and our children’s children.”

McGuire and Mennie wrote and published The Original Parent and Family Logbook to help parents raise strong families. The book is dedicated to America’s greatest natural resource: the family. In the book, McGuire and Mennie write, “The family is the link to our past, the purpose of our present and the hope for our future.” The book is designed for use by parents with their children to select and record important activities, events and accomplishments while at the same time offering practical family building suggestions.

Thousands of copies of The Original Parent and Family Logbook have been purchased by families of all kinds. The book has also been extremely popular with corporate America as a gift or premium from the companies to their valued employees and customers. The rich looking leatherette cover with brass gilt corners is printed in gold and is specially designed to be durable and expandable. The heirloom feature of the book is enhanced by the use of 300-year life acid free paper.

The book has been featured in newspapers and on television and radio and the authors have been very popular on talk shows and speaking engagements with their practical suggestions and insight for “helping families bloom.” Their book has been called “the owners manual for raising a family.”

“Our book is perfect for the families of service men and women - it is a military type log with a family memory book format along with parenting tips that can assist the single parent in building self esteem and character in his/her children while the other parent is away.” Says McGuire. “Companies spend millions on all kinds of promotions,” continues McGuire, “here is a chance for a company to get invaluable exposure while showing its support of these outstanding American families.”

However, McGuire and Mennie know they cannot accomplish their mission alone. They are seeking a “willing coalition” of organizations and individuals who have shown national leadership in supporting and championing the American family to finance the costs associated with the printing and delivery of one hundred thousand books. The deluxe corporate edition of The Original Parent and Family Logbook includes gilt edges, security closure tab, personalized corporate identification and message and retails for $46.95. Blossom Publishing is making the book available for this special program for $15.00 per copy for orders of 10,000 or more.

“We are a small publishing company and we realize we cannot do this alone.” Says Mennie. “By partnering with concerned organizations, we can give a great family building tool to very deserving families while at the same time enabling top American companies to clearly show their support of those families. Children need a mom and a dad; we know our book won’t replace the missing parent, but it will go a long way in helping the family bloom until the mom or dad returns from duty.”
